New Comic!

Tuesday, April 8th, 2008

As some of you may know…I also create comics in my spare time.
This May I have a new 24-page story called The Boys of The Den - Escape of The Fox Clan premiering and being published by Sugary Serials. Sugary Serials is a comics anthology of all age, full-color comics created with the sensibilities of the Saturday Morning Cartoon in mind. Get ready for stories with vibrant characters and a good mix of danger and fun.

The Boys of the Den could be seen as a loose retelling of the classic Lost Boys story. Set on the wild frontier, in the time of the American Civil War, The Boys of the Den live harmoniously with the Natives and surrounding Animal Clans along a hidden hillside. But the destructive battlefields of war are soon approaching, threatening their way of life and the boys are on a mission to reclaim the only weapon that could help them fight back.

I started working on this story back in October of last year…and recently finished a month or so ago…so, I really can’t wait for pages to be posted! But until then…go check out the Sugary Serials archives because there is plenty to read until my story begins!

Upcoming Art Print & Exhibit

Wednesday, April 2nd, 2008

Cricket Press has recently been given space at the Downtown Library Art Gallery to hold a solo exhibition later this Fall. It will be a show full of our recent Gigposters and Art-Prints. Brian and I are bustling to create a cluster of new work. To follow in theme with art-prints I created through 2007, here is a glimpse of an upcoming piece I will be printing in the next month or so. It is currently untitled / 4-color / 19″x 25″ / edition undetermined.

Unusual Animals @ 930 Gallery in Louisville

Wednesday, March 19th, 2008

Sara and I both have work accepted into the upcoming “Unusual Animals” show at the 930 Gallery in Louisville. From what I can gather, the show is a collaboration of sorts with the excellent indie label, Asthmatic Kitty.

The exhibit runs April 5th - April 27th, with an opening on April 5th that sounds promising. Go check it out! We’ll be there.

Another year down!

Friday, December 21st, 2007

As 2007 winds down, and the new year quickly approaches, Sara and I would like to thank all of you who have supported Cricket Press in this past year. For us, 2007 was a wild ride; not without its share of bumps and bruises but an amazing and rewarding year nonetheless. We want to wish all of you out there lots of fun and happiness in the new year to come. On our end, we plan on hitting the ground running in 2008 with plans for a lot more cool stuff to share, so stay tuned.

With that, we offer our final print for 2007; entitled “Red Forest”, this 5-color screen print is available now at Cricket Press.

Happy Holidays, and best wishes in ‘08.
