DREAM POSTER GIG

Thursday, July 28th, 2011

If you haven’t heard of the band Archers of Loaf…they were one of several bands that were first categorized as indie rock. Sprouting in the early 90s from the Chapel Hill scene…for me they were the band that opened my eyes to music alternatives, going to live shows, and scouring record stores for bands on other small labels. They were a gateway to most of the music I listen to today.

And I adored them!

I was able to see them perform numerous times before they broke up in ’98. Unfortunately this was years before I started creating gigposters, but they were always the answer to the question: What band would be your dream gigposter?

To my delight the band reunited for a tour this year…and guess what? I was fortunate enough to create posters for 2 of their dates in Chicago. Everything about working with them was a pleasure. This was a dream job…in every way. This is why I love my job…I get to create and help promote the bands I love.

They are both now available on our site and in our Etsy store.

Design Jobs of 2010

Monday, January 10th, 2011

University of Kentucky College of Arts & Science

We were hired to create over 20 illustrations for the vast schools under the A & S banner. The illustrations will be used on their new website, promo, and printed materials. It was a very fun project translating each school visually while exploring a slightly new style. Below is a grouping of 12 of the pieces.

Library Renewal
www.libraryrenewal.org

This project was fun and supports a great cause! We were hired to create a poster and other visual elements used on their website and various printed materials expressing what libraries could and should be in this new, technological age. Their goal?: to find new econtent solutions for libraries, while staying true to their larger mission.

Note: The other fine poster design in this picture (green color scheme) was done by fellow gigposter artist The Bungaloo

The Kentucky Fresh Cookbook

This is the most exciting! We were hired to design the cover and all interior illustrations for a cookbook due out Spring 2011! We will save the interior pieces for when the book debuts! The focus of the book is using local ingredients when they are regionally in season. We’ve been privy to some of the recipes…and believe me this book is going to be amazing! We can’t wait to share more.

My Morning Jacket - It Still Moves

Monday, October 25th, 2010

We’ve been fielding a lot of requests the past few days about the My Morning Jacket - It Still Moves poster.

We’ve put the word out with their management to see who or where we can direct people to in case there are any more of these available, and am still waiting on a response. We’ll put the word out on our website, our blog, and on Twitter if anything changes or of they release any remaining posters.

Thanks again for all the interest!
