2007 Holiday Season…in full swing!

Wednesday, November 28th, 2007

So…what’s new at Cricket Press this Holiday Season?

If you’ve been by the site in the last couple weeks you’ll notice that we put together a little “Gift Guide”. This is just to highlight some of our newer items such as art-prints, card-sets and themed packages. But more specifically…

-Holiday Cards, Galore-
We have three editions of Holiday Greeting Cards this season. The classic letter-pressed Winter Cards are back and in full stock. We also have two new lines: First Frost and Starlight Mint Cards. Both of these limited-edition sets are screen-printed and come with their own matching envelopes.

-I Like Bikes!
Brian has created several new Bike-Related items. A new letter-pressed art-print has hit the site called Detour. This piece is actually part of an ongoing letterpress themed exhibit currently at the Lexington Downtown Art Center called Salad Days. Brian has also created a line of letter-pressed Bicycle card-sets and journals!

You can check all these items out in our Gift Guide

-Cricket Press Holiday Gift Boxes
Looking for a fun way to give a sampler of Cricket Press swag? Well, this season Brian and I were thinking of ways you could do just that! We created a very limited edition of screen-printed gift boxes; some already come in themed packages such as “I Like Bikes” and “Goldfish” boxes. But you can also Mix N’ Match your own box with an array of different hand-printed items. Each box comes with a t-shirt, card-set, journal-or-coasters, pin-set and bunch of little extras…and then comes all packed together in a cute, givable bundle!

CUSTOM HOLIDAY CARDS?

It may seem ridiculous but when you’re in the business of designing and printing greeting cards…now is the perfect time to begin thinking about the upcoming Holidays. This is just a preliminary announcement about getting custom Holiday Cards created by us this season. We’ll of course have numerous in-house designs that we’ll have for sale, but if you are wanting something that is completely your own, a design we work personally with you in creating…then you might want to reserve a slot with us soon. We can only commit to a certain number of jobs around this hectic time of year…so, it’s never TOO EARLY to get in touch.

If you are interested in having Cricket Press design and print your own, custom batch of cards this holiday…please so not hesitate to contact us to ask questions, request pricing and/or to reserve a slot with us.

-never too early-

Screens ‘N’ Spokes - Philly

Wednesday, August 8th, 2007
screens n spokes print

we’re pleased to announce that cricket press will be taking part in Screens ‘N’ Spokes, a fundraising benefit to support the Screens and Spokes cycling team which will be riding in the annual New Jersey MS 150 City-To-Shore Bike Ride, an event that raises money for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Since the goal of the teams is to raise money by getting sponsorships for the ride, the resourceful folks on the SNS team came up with the idea of inviting poster artists and printmakers to create bike-themed prints which will promote the Screens N Spokes exhibit that runs through the month of September at two locations in Philadelphia; Mugshots Coffeehouse and Milkboy Coffee. Prints will be sold and/or auctioned off throughout the duration of the exhibit, so if you’re in the Philly area, please stop by and check it out.

Several of our poster pals will be taking part in this as well: Dirk Fowler, Jay Ryan, Diana Sudyka, Eleanor Grosch, Leia Bell and Tim Gough… and many more. You can’t go wrong with bikes and posters.

Flatstock 12…Done.

Thursday, March 22nd, 2007

We just got back from Flatstock early this week. Another year driving down to Austin TX for the music festival SXSW to sell our posters along with about 100 other incredible poster artists. The drive is of course exhausting…but we love doing it every year just for the chance to converse with new folks and hang out with old poster friends. And again…this year didn’t disappoint!

Jay striking a pose.

Small Stakes Jason. His booth was right at the end of row…so we got to see the posters flying. I think his cardboard was blank by the end of the weekend. Such good stuff.

Our across the row neighbor Zach Hobbs. Mucho entertainment coming from this booth.

And our favorite booth neighbors ever! Ryan Nole from Kangaroo Press and Bryce and Laura from Isle of Printing. Made out time behind the booth totally enjoyable. Plus we got to drool all over Bryce’s new prints all weekend.

Our Booth-

One of the highlights of the trip…picking up Brian’s custom made Moyer Cycle from Whitney!

Special thanks to the Pedinis for letting us crash with them and being the greatest of hosts. And other folks for making the weekend so chill and relaxed this year: The Fowlers, the Conners, and our other housemates Casey Burns and Mike King!

We hope to see everyone again plus new…this summer in Chicago!

2007 Subscription Plans are HERE!

Tuesday, January 2nd, 2007

For 2007, we will be offering Two Different Plans.

As a repeat of last year we are offering the Poster Plan. What this means is that each person who participates will receive (one) each of all the posters and art prints that we create throughout the year. Subscribers can count on at least 25 posters and/or art prints (though last year subscribers received 38 gigposters and 10 art prints), plus you will receive any number of various odds and ends that don’t particularly fall into the category of posters and art prints… whatever we feel like throwing in (surprise!).

The second plan, and brand new for 2007, is the Card & Stationery Plan. Over the past year, Cricket Press has concentrated on offering a variety of card-sets, postcards, stationery, etc…all printed in a limited-edition. This plan will allow subscribers to secure one of each set we create through out the whole year. It will be mailed out every other month and domestic shipping is included (like the poster plan). We can guarantee you will receive at least 12 sets plus a number of unrelated surprises. If you are unfamiliar with the cards and other sundry we’ve created…just check out our Cards, etc. page for what we created last year.

Both subscriptions are retroactive…meaning no matter when you sign up, you will get what we have printed since Jan. 1st of 2007. Though, slots for these plans in limited. We are only offering 10 for each plan.

Check out our Subscriptions page for further details.

If you are interested, please email us for availability.
Offer expires May 1st, 2006.
